Education

Dr. Dentico-Olin completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University where he rowed on the heavyweight crew team and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in music and a minor in saxophone performance. After a few years in the music business, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Specialized Training

Dr. Dentico-Olin completed a six-year specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as well as an internship in General Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He is board-certified and practices within the full traditional scope of the specialty.

Dr. Dentico-Olin employs the latest biomedical technologies including stem cell therapy and recombinant growth factor therapy. He also uses cutting-edge technology in bone grafting, dental implants, and facial reconstruction. With custom, patient-specific implants, he engages advanced 3D modeling and live guided surgery. He is also known for his expertise in dental implant surgery and bone grafting, wisdom tooth surgery, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, reconstruction and repair of facial bone fractures, post-traumatic facial reconstruction, TMJ total joint replacement, and treatment of cysts and tumors of the mouth and facial bones.

He's not only one of the most respected and active facial trauma surgeons in San Diego County, but he also serves as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rady Children's Hospital and Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Home Life

An avid lover of music and art, basketball, and Little League Baseball, Dr. Dentico-Olin loves spending time with his wife Deborah, son Marc Charlie, and dogs Wall-E and Clover. He also greatly enjoys being a small business owner and a member of the San Diego Community.

Stephen Moreno, DDS, FAAP

From participating in numerous international surgical missions focused on cleft lip and palate care to his commitment to interdisciplinary care, Dr. Moreno’s dedicated to every patient he serves. He meets each patient’s unique needs through meticulously tailoring each surgical plan.

Education

Dr. Moreno received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pacific Union College in California. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. After concluding a General Practice Residency in the U.S. Navy, he spent a year practicing in Japan before beginning his specialty training.

Specialized Training

Training at the President’s hospital, Dr. Moreno completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He pursued additional fellowship training at the University of Florida-Jacksonville, completing fellowships in pediatric craniofacial surgery and head and neck oncologic surgery and microvascular reconstruction.

Dr. Moreno is board-certified and delivers full scope oral and maxillofacial surgical solutions. With a patient-centered approach, he is especially skilled in orthognathic surgery, head and neck pathology, implant placement, dentoalveolar surgery, complex reconstruction, and pediatric craniofacial conditions.

Surgical Leadership

Staying active in surgical education, he serves as a staff oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Tim Smith,

Education

Dr. Smith attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he received his undergraduate degree and was honored as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating as a Regent Scholar.

Specialized Training

After dental school, Dr. Smith joined the US Navy and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Balboa Naval Hospital. He retired as the Assistant Director of the Navy’s largest Oral and Maxillofacial Residency program at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. He continuously pursues education and is involved with the graduate program at the University of Southern California Dental School.

Professional Expertise

Dr. Smith has a wide range of expertise including comprehensive implant rehabilitation, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, and temporomandibular joint surgery, ranging from arthroscopic procedures to total joint replacement. He’s been a partner at Mission Valley Premier Oral & Facial Surgery for many years and holds hospital staff appointments at Mercy/Scripps Hospital and Sharp Memorial Hospital.

Surgical Leadership

With over 1,500 major maxillofacial procedures performed, Dr. Smith is a leader in facial reconstruction. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology, and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Society, the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the San Diego Dental Society.

Home Life

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Smith is a proud father to three children. He is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys jogging, downhill skiing, cycling, and traveling.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Trinh graduated summa cum laude from the University of the Pacific in Stockton with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. He attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) honor society. He continued his education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha earning his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and achieving an internship in General Surgery.

Specialized Training

Dr. Trinh completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgerical residency with extensive training in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant placement, patient-specific implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, TMJ surgery (from minimally invasive procedures to total joint reconstruction), and trauma surgery. He was also part of the Cleft and Craniofacial team at Boys Town National Hospital where he gained specialized experience in complex reconstructive procedures.

Settled in San Diego, Dr. Trinh embraces an active and creative lifestyle enjoying cooking, swimming, basketball, and music.

Megan Milder, DMD

Whether it’s serving Alaskan Native Americans or her local community, Dr. Megan Milder is dedicated to treating her patients with kindness and excellence.

Education

Attending the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Milder earned her Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in psychology. She was an active member of the Pre-Dental Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta health professionals honor society, the women’s club water polo team, and volunteered at the rock climbing gym. Continuing her education, she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.

Specialized Training

Dr. Milder completed her oral surgery residency at Emory University, where she trained across five major hospitals, including Grady Memorial Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. She became board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery the following year, solidifying her expertise in the field.

Professional Expertise

Following her residency, Dr. Milder provided comprehensive oral surgery to the population of Alaskan Native Americans. She continues to practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical solutions including dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma, and oral pathology.

Home Life

Dr. Milder loves spending family time with her husband (Elie), their daughter (Maya), and their dog (Leo). She also enjoys baking sourdough and going on family hikes.

Julian Wilson,

Dr. Julian Wilson has committed his career to advancing surgical excellence due to his deep passion for restoring function, improving smiles, and enhancing the lives of the patient’s he serves.

Specialized Education

After Dr. Wilson earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), he pursued advanced surgical training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he honed his skills in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He then completed a fellowship in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and orthognathic surgery to further his expertise in complex reconstructive procedures.

Professional Expertise

With many years of experience, Dr. Wilson specializes in managing complex TMJ disorders, orthognathic surgery, and reconstructive procedures. He performs approximately 80 orthognathic surgeries and 50 TMJ procedures annually, including arthroplasties and total joint replacements. He often combines these procedures in one operation for the benefit of his patients.

As a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Wilson is a respected clinician in oral and maxillofacial surgery recognized for his high-volume surgical practice in both standalone and integrated restorative procedures.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Wilson enjoys the vibrant Los Angeles community.
